„The Original“

Since FAKUMA 1990, all the
plastics industry worldwide is
increasingly getting into the
drying system consisting of
removable dryer containers in
sizes between 0,5 and 75 l
combined with a dry air supply
docking station. The system
provides a benefit making
accurately dried resin batches
available on the feed zone of a
plastics processing machine
thus eliminating risk of overdrying
or contamination,
reducing energy charges and
being fully maintenance-free. Chef’s suggestion: “Just trust in original”

central conveying control with documented drying process
Each one of JETBOX control unit or HELIOMAT® docking station disposes of a CAN-BUS-interface, up to 64 dryer units can be added to a central drying system. The DryDoc- Software enables to operate the dryers by remote control, controlling and recording the drying process data continuously.

Working Principle
Nowadays, commonly used fridge dried compressed air is available at pressures between 6 and 15 bars having dew point of 3°C in plastics processing industry. Once the air is decompressed to atmospheric pressure, the dew point would drop down to -20°C up to -28°C.
This dry air quality level is sophisticated for 95% of tasks in drying of thermoplastic materials in order to
achieve the necessary residual moisture prior to processing. By means of auxiliary equipments, the dew point can be dropped down to -60°C. Depending on the plastic resin type, approximately 1 to 2,5m³/h dry air is required for drying
of 1 kg/h.
The necessary drying time is, depending on the plastic resin type, between 2 and 6 hours. Thus, a precision drying system must be capable of only using the quantity of drying air required to meet exactly the drying task. Thanks to the patented technics, the HELIOS WINsystem®
dryers can be preset precisely to meet exactly the range of drying performance.
Throughput fluctuations due interruptions of production, etc. are automatically compensated by the system within specified drying programs. Both of these features combined result in the lowest possible energy consumption . The drying air (compressed air) enters the
heater through 3 to 5 valves with different diameters connected in parallel, which can be opened or closed individually resulting in the possibility of 8 to 32 different dry air flow rates. This enables a material-specific, highprecision
volume flow control.
The drying capacity or material-specific drying intensity can be preset either by means of 4 drying programs or with the aid of the integrated database.
A ceramic heating element, in
combination with a self-optimizing microprocessor control system, guarantees a highly accurate temperature control. The entire system is coupled to a fully automated lowering and restarting of the drying intensity in case if interruptions in production or shift operation, for
instance.
The systems allows the precise pre-selection of the drying capacity to within 100 g/h. It is extremely important to maintain the parameter of drying air quality to 100% and this is accomplished through
continuous measurement and indication of the dew point. The values for the pre-drying time and subsequent continuous drying are automatically set and controlled from the database. Differing from HELIOS database, 9 individual
programs per each dryer units can be set manually or by means of DryDoc optionally.
